Airline Overview:

This Air Lines traces its history back to 1924 and the world's first aerial crop dusting company . Nowday, it is the world's largest airline flying to more than 400 destinations in 65 countries.
More than 165 million passengers fly with Delta each year. In 2008, Delta bought Northwest Airlines. The Northwest brand is slowly being replaced by Delta.
The airlines' frequent-flyer programs are also being consolidated and should be fully aligned by the end of this year. In May, Delta and the Air France KLM Group announced a joint venture.
The two aviation groups will coordinate operations on their transatlantic businesses. Delta and AF/KLM will work together on routes between North America and Africa, Middle East and India, and on flights between Europe and several Latin American countries.
In Autumn 2009, Delta Air Lines was one of several major US carriers that levied a surcharge of up to $50 (US) for flying on busy travel days such as those around Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
