Women Laws and Sharia Followed in Dubai

Dubai has certain social customs which demands certain rules for women. Sharia is a legal framework which defines certain guidelines is defined for living under Islamic principles. As per the Sharia, women are measured inferior to men having fewer rights and responsibilities in spite of the assertions of the equality of the sexes in front of God. Sharia declares that the position of women is less valuable than that of men in case of marriage or separation. According to the law, a man can also hit his wife if in his eyes she has committed disobedience or misconduct. On the other hand, a woman doesn’t possess the right to choose her groom, her residence, travel or wear what she wants. Any conduct that demoralizes the idea of male preeminence will be considered as the foul to Sharia.The legal age varies from country to country in case of women. This age ranges from9 to 17 in countries following Islamic laws. This is followed through the marriage of Mohammed to Aisha who was a 9 year old girl whereas the Prophet was 53.Moreover, in some countries Muslim women cannot marry non-Muslim but Muslim men can marry non-Muslim women. In order to prevent sexual mayhem, women are expected keep themselves covered up to their wrists. Sharia totally opposes the freedom of clothing for women. Moreover, women cannot have any contact with the men who are not related to them without the presence of a male relative.

Law:
The minister of Justice, Mohammad Bin Nakhira Al Daheri told that if a woman is found with a man in a closed place all alone, they may get arrested. However the investigation would be thoroughly made by the police.

The legal testimony of a woman is half of man’s. A man gets more inheritance than his female sibling.

Argument:
Many defenders of Islam including women often argue that women are content with the way they are living. They believe that these laws protect them from the men and keep them away from the gawk of other men.
